Christmas

Christmas is a busy time of the year and we tried to squeeze in all the fun we could this season. The boys really are starting to talk these days and they understand and pick up on just about anything. So they really understood the whole present thing and they would talk about Santa and point him out. We talked about baby Jesus as well but I'm not sure the truly understand the true meaning on Christmas just yet. They also loved all the lights inside and out.

Christmas Eve we went to mass late in the afternoon, afterwards we drove around and took in all the light displays and then we came home to a nice family dinner. After dinner the boys got to open one Christmas present (PJ's) and we watched the Christmas Story. We set cookies and milk out for Santa and headed to bed.

Christmas morning the boys were excited to see what Santa brought and to open presents. We spent the morning enjoying opening gifts and playing with all our new toys.

After nap we headed over to Nana and Papa's house for Christmas with the Collignon's.

We had a very blessed Christmas, spending it with family and making lasting memories.

December Fun

We continued our tradition with going to the Hampton Hills Tree Farm to pick out our tree. Pete and I have been doing this since we started getting a tree back when we were dating, so it's fun to keep it going on with the kids :) It was a cold day so we didn't walk around much. The past few years we have actually not found a great tree so we have bought at the tree lot there, but it's still fun to go walk around and make a afternoon of it. They have Santa and sleigh rides going, we didn't do either this year but hope to next year. The boys love any type of adventure and being outside so it was a win for them.

"It's a Beaut!"

The boys' play room even got some lights, which they love:)

We started a new tradition this year, as we didn't visit Santa at the mall but we joined him for breakfast at the Macy's downtown. The boys got to also meet Mrs. Claus as well as face painting and ballons. I couldn't convince either one to try the face painting, but we tried at least. The reaction to Santa was similar to last year, Colton didn't care for him up close but was ok from a distance. Henry was in love this year and couldn't wait for his turn. It was pretty cute to see him love up on Santa, he even held his hand. After breakfast we saw the Macy's Christmas display on the 8th floor. The boys thought it was really neat.

A day in the life of an elf, the Macy's 8th floor display

A visit to Nana & Papa's, Henry really loved the nativity scene and kept looking at baby Jesus, my mom thought it was the sweetest thing... a moment worth mentioning ;)

We made our first ginger bread house, it certainly was a masterpiece by the kids :)
