Baptism

12/16/2012 Henry and Colton were baptized. Colton wore a gown from Grandma Joan's family that is over 100 years old. Pete was baptized in the same gown. Henry wore a gown from Grandma Francie's family. Colton's Godparents (Mark and Trianna) and Henry's Godparents (Chad and Amy) all took part in the ceremony. My nieces, Georgia and Addie, were the priest's helpers as well. Both boys were good but Colton made sure God knew he was there. It was a special day for our family.

2 Months

Time flies bye, especially when one day blends right into the next. The boys are doing great and growing to be big and strong. Henry came in the 60th plus percentile with his weight, needless to say he likes to eat! He has over doubled in size and continues to want to eat more. Colton is growing right on track, smaller then his brother but growing at more of an average pace ( he has close to doubled his birth weight). They both are responding to things... they smile at Mom and Dad and coo and caaa... it's so much fun. They now will reach for toys and grab at things. It amazes me how fast they learn things and how quickly they change. Henry has rolled over a few times from his belly to his back. Colton can stand on his legs (with help of course) and hold his head really well. I already feel like they are growing too fast, I can't believe that they are so much bigger already. They go for 4-6 hour stretches of sleep at night now, which makes the days that much more enjoyable for Mom and Dad! We are having fun with them and soaking in each day as best we can.

1 Month Old

Being home with our two little angels is amazing, our life is so different now!  We are adjusting to our new normal, which is feeding and changing diapers every two to three hours. The boys have adjusted well and are good babies. They really only cry for good reason, food or diaper. They sleep for 3- 4 hour stretches at night. We are busy but it's not nearly as hard as I thought. It amazes me everyday that I grew both of them in me. It truly is a miracle and for us a double blessing! Here are a few fun shots of their first month of life :)

It was Thursday the 27th of September, I was feeling my normal self... VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.  My mom came over to help me re-do my outside flower pots for the fall season. We ran some errands that day, came home, planted some mums and placed some pumpkins on the deck and front step.  We then visited for awhile and she headed home. Just after she left I received a call from my doctor telling me that my lab work done the previous day came back abnormal and she wanted me to go to Fairview Ridges to have some tests done. I called Pete the tell him the news and he headed home from work to go with me to the hospital. After I completed my blood work at Fairview we headed out to dinner at the Olive Garden and then headed home for a relaxing evening on the couch with some Thursday night football. Just as we got our comfy clothes on and settled in on the couch I received a call from my Doctor. She told me that the lab work came back even more abnormal (showing early signs of preeclampsia) and that we needed to head to the hospital to have further tests done. She also told us to bring our bags as their was a chance that we would be having the babies that night. Holy S*** I thought to myself, and then told Pete that we needed to head to United Hospital. After we arrived some further tests were done, it was decided at 11pm that we were being admitted and that we would be having the babies at 5am the next morning via c-section.

After an hour or so of sleep we were woken (about 3am) to prep for the surgery. Pete and I got to have a few moments alone before they walked me to the operating room. We shared some sweet words and I was off. The walk to the operating room was one of the more overwhelming moments in my life. I couldn't believe that I was about to have two little boys and that my life was going to change so drastically in a matter of minutes. Walking into the OR I was very nervous and excited. A team of about 15 different doctors and nurses were there and ready to go. After I was prepped and laid on the operating table Pete was brought into the room. He sat right by my side and held my hand, within a matter in minutes  we heard our first cry from Henry. We were so overwhelmed that we both began to cry. Pete was asked to stand and watch all that was going on. Once Henry was taken out I instantly felt as if I could breath again. A minute later Colton was born. It was a moment I will never forget, we were now a family of four (five if you include Cooper). Life couldn't get any better!
